Eye on the Skyline
By: Allyssa Carter
My family took a vacation to Orange Beach this summer! While on vacation, I took a lot of pictures with my iPhone. To develop this manipulated image, I wanted to combine to of my favorite photographs from the beach. First, I pulled up each photograph in seperate Paint windows. I stretched the canvas that the sunset picture was on and minimized the window until I needed it later. After that, I worked on removing the lenses in the sunglasses. In order to do that, I used select free-form and traced the inside of each lense and removed them. Next, I selected the whole image and used copy and paste to put it in the window with the sunset picture and put them side-by-side. Using the select rectangle, transparent option, I selected the image that I wanted on top (the sunglasses). I moved the picture on top of the sunset skyline picture. Once that was finished, I moved the work canvas back to fit around the new picture. Next, I opened the picture file in the Google program, Picasa 3. I used the glow feature, followed by the HDR-ish feature and increased the strength and radius. I applied the soft focus feature and focused in on the altered sunglasses and made the edges blurred.
