Unit 1 - Early Americans & Exploration

Monday (Aug 22): Students will take a pre-assessment over Unit 1's content. Students will self-assess Unit 1's content based on the pre-assessment. 

Tuesday (Aug 23): Students will trace the migration routes of the first Americans in the Americas. 

Wednesday (Aug 24): Students will describe how Native Americans viewed threir environmets. Students will explain how/why Native Americans adapted to and modified their environment for survivial. 

Thursday (Aug 25): Students will begin their Native American Tribes Project using research books in their classroom.

Friday (Aug 26): Students will continue to work on their Native American Tribes Project using the iPads and the following websites:

Tuesday (Sept 13): Students will explain why slavery was introduced in the New World and the consequences it had on Africa. 

Wednesday (Sept 14): Students will list several items that were exchanged as a result of New World discoveries. Students will explain the “Great Convergence” of European, African, and Native American people and how this convergence shaped America’s diverse society today.

Thursday (Sept 15): Students will review Unit 1 – Native Americans & Exploration material in preparation for the Unit 1 Assessment on Friday. (Ms. Potter was absent)

Friday (Sept 16): Students will review Unit 1 – Native Americans & Exploration material in preparation for the Unit 1 Assessment on Friday. (Ms. Potter was absent)
