Caverna Schools Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Caverna Responds to Coronavirus

Caverna Schools Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At Caverna Schools we anticipate that you may have questions about our efforts to manage Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Even though there are NO confirmed cases of the virus in our area, we still take the threat very seriously. Every day, we closely monitor and analyze developments and statements from local, national and international health agencies, and we are taking actions to comply with their directives which are based on facts and medical science.

There is no issue more important to us than making sure we manage this situation as effectively as possible so our students and staff are able to learn and work in the safest educational environment possible.  The health authorities tell us that, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, we must: wash hands frequently, heighten cleaning practices, and avoid contact with sick people.

Here’s what Caverna Schools is doing at this time:

  • A Coronavirus Leadership Response Team has been formed and is meeting daily to monitor and analyze developments.

  • We are not only encouraging more handwashing through verbal directives and signage, but we are also teaching students how to properly wash their hands.

  • We are encouraging students and staff who don’t feel well and are running a fever to stay home or go to the doctor.

  • We have installed more hand soap and hand sanitizer stations in the schools and have additional ones on the way.

  • Our custodial staff are cleaning and disinfecting every day and night with disinfectants that are effective against the Coronavirus.

  • Our district is in the process of approving Emergency Non-Traditional Instructional Days just in case the state decides it is best to temporarily close schools.
